Pearl Izumi added a durable water repellent (DWR) finish to shrug off misty mornings and light precipitation. A special back pocket is cut from mesh so a cell phone can be put in flash mode and used as a blinky for increased visibility at night, and should you have a dedicated light, you can clip it to the reflective utility loop placed on the low back.
